In 1985 a study was commissioned to find the best solution to the problem of servicing parcel handling systems for a large international carrier and distributor with over 100 depots/terminals throughout the UK. The result was the formation of a business, now known as AMH Services Ltd. Since then, we have expanded, and now offer a complete service.

Design

Having been awarded the contract, we begin to procure the equipment. As we are not a manufacturer, we are able to select the most suitable suppliers to fulfill your particular requirements.

Our experienced team of design engineers will mix, match and modify where required the consituent parts that make up your system. We always use proven technology from quality manufacturers.

Project Management

We take away all worries and stress associated with new installations and modifications to existing systems. Our experienced project managers will listen to your problems and then identify possible solutions. By working closely with you we are able to produce a proposal comprising:

Installation

The installation itself is carried out by a dedicated team trained in all aspects of mechanical and electrical/electronic systems engineering.

It is supervised by the project engineer allocated to you from the outset. He is responsible for the quality of workmanship and adherence to the timetable.

We work closely with you throughout with regular site meetings, ensuring any potential problems are diagnosed and cured before it is too late. The final stage is to hand over a full set of documentation and train your staff on the new system.

Proven Track Record

Our design and installation service is best illustrated using real examples. The conveyor system commissioned at one of DHL's major terminals, Risley, and the Parcel Sorting Hub for Federal Express in Nuneaton that was designed to handle at least 4000 parcels per hour.

This system incorporates six boom conveyors with specially designed hoods. The head of engineering services at Federal Express said "We chose AMH because of their thorough professionalism"

Vertcal Storage Carousels

Following on from our success in the conveyor sector, AMH was asked by our existing customers to take over the maintenance of their vertical storage carousels units as they had been let down by their previous suppliers. This allowed AMH to successfully take the strategic decision in 1997 to enter the vertical storage carousel market, where we supply both new and used machines, as well as bespoke software to our existing/rapidly increasing number of customers.
